Growth as a designer is not always visible, but patterns emerge when progress is examined over time.

Visualizing Change is a data visualization poster that tracks my design development across four years, revealing measurable progression in both complexity and competency. The project was created to emphasize comparison between works using four categories: Bloom’s Taxonomy level, the number of AGIA competencies demonstrated, and my personal data. I chose my top music artist and total minutes listened each month. By combining academic and personal metrics, the poster captures both the technical and emotional influences that shaped my creative evolution.

The visualization reveals a clear upward trajectory: over time, my projects reached higher levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy and incorporated more AGIA competencies, reflecting increased critical thinking, technical ability, and conceptual depth. Additionally, my total listening time increased over the same period, suggesting a meaningful correlation between music engagement and creative growth.

The gradient bubbles represent my top artist of each month, with color serving both a functional and emotional purpose. The gradients visually express how music feels to me: immersive, colorful, and full of energy. It also allows overlapping forms to symbolize cumulative growth. A structured, technical key contrasts with the expressive graph, creating balance between clarity and personality. Set against a minimal black-and-white layout, the vibrant visualization becomes the focal point, transforming personal and academic data into a compelling narrative of creative development.
